Eugenia Cauduro, actress and former model, went through this after finding herself with several extra kilos and made a decisive decision to change her life.
Eugenia Cauduro is a Mexican actress who has featured in several soap operas in the country. She was also a model from a very young age and was quite successful in that profession. She participated in several important catwalks in Mexico and the world. But, when she was 22 years old, she decided to follow another path. She left modeling for acting. She began taking classes and discovered her calling.
She began acting on Televisa and her face became increasingly familiar to the audience. Her first appearance was in the production We’ll Ever Have Wings and after that, we could see her in famous soap operas such as I’ll Never Forget You, DKDA: Dreams of Youth, and many more to this day she continues acting.
Over time, Eugenia began to gain weight. And, although it did not affect her work, since her overweight allowed her to play other types of roles, there came a point where she decided to change her direction. Today, Eugenia is 55 years old and in a short time, she lost around 20 kilos.
She says that with being overweight she began to have pain in her knees and became more tired. So she decided to take matters into her own hands. She said: “I started by raising awareness and reconciling with my body, because no one takes care of what they don’t love, and I was not comfortable with my body. When I realized it, my chip changed immediately.”
For years, she tried unsuccessfully to lose weight, but it was not until she began to study a little more that she began to understand the process for a healthier life. The actress emphasized that her change was not due to a gastric bypass, nor to magic pills; It was 100% her effort. Likewise, she mentioned the importance of not categorizing someone based on their body, since they may have hormonal or thyroid problems.
Eugenia’s doctor recommends that she lose 10 more kilos, however, she wants to try hard and lose a little more than that. She mentioned: “I would like to not look like a 20-year-old girl or like in the old days, but I would like to lose at least 12 or 15 years. But it has been very difficult because I go down two, I go up one; down three, up another. “I am in menopause, and that is also against me.”
Eugenia has shared photos of her change and many women encourage her to continue, she has also been an inspiration for many more. She never imagined she would have that impact and she feels committed. She said: “I know what it’s like to deal with an unfair and discriminatory society.”
For the moment, Eugenia continues working and focusing on her health. She confessed: “I feel proud and at peace, it is something very difficult, but not impossible.”
