Michael Gambon, known for playing Dumbledore in Harry Potter, has died

The prominent British performer died due to pneumonia, according to his family.

“We are devastated to announce the loss of Michael Gambon,” said a statement issued by his publicist, Clair Dobbs, on behalf of his wife, Anne Miller, and his son Fergus.

“Beloved husband and father, Michael died peacefully in hospital accompanied by his wife Anne and his son Fergus, after a bout of pneumonia. Michael was 82 years old,” he adds.

Born on October 19, 1940, in Cabra, Ireland, Michael Gambon stood out for an important career in film, television, and theater.
