One of the most successful sagas in film history is “Transformers.” It is based on the eponymous franchise from the 1980s.
The first installments of the “Transformers” saga starred a young and talented Shia LaBeouf and the beautiful Megan Fox, however many people believed that both would continue in the saga for much longer, but this was not the case.
Why did Megan Fox leave “Transformers”?
Megan Fox played the character of Mikaela Banes in “Transformers” and in its sequel, which was called “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.” However, her departure from the saga left many questions unanswered.
Many critics, and even “Transformers” fans, considered it a mistake for Fox to abandon the saga, but as time went by it became known that the actress had a very strong dispute with the director of the first two installments: Michael Bay.
Fox made some comments about Bay and his way of working that did not sit well with the filmmaker. It is even said that the bad relationship between the two began before the filming of the two “Transformers” movies.
“In a 2009 interview, Megan Fox disclosed, ‘He’s akin to Napoleon, striving to cultivate a notorious reputation as a crazed and infamous figure. He aspires to emulate Hitler on his sets, and indeed, he does. Working for him is a nightmarish experience, but when you remove him from the director’s chair and he’s not in that mood, I genuinely appreciate his eccentric personality.'”
He is so hopelessly awkward. He has no social skills at all. And it is endearing to see. He’s vulnerable and fragile in real life and then on set he’s a tyrant,” Fox continued.
However, after Megan Fox’s statements, the “Transformers” production team decided to give their version of the events: “We are three members of the team who have worked with Michael for the last ten years. Last week we read the terrible article with incendiary and truly devastating quotes from Ms. Fox about Michael Bay. Michael found this shy, inexperienced girl, brought her out of total obscurity, and gave her the biggest opportunity of a young actress’s life. He told everyone that “They trusted him with their choice. He gave him the lead role in Transformers, a franchise that forever changed his life.”
“We put in our best effort to enhance her appearance in every possible manner, yet she never acknowledges the hard work of others. Gratitude is something she never expresses. The Princess no longer receives greetings from our team members since she never reciprocates. It can be quite draining. Some have the impression that ‘She truly despises the actor’s journey.’ Megan has frequently arrived late on set,” continued the producers of “Transformers.”
